(Forensic Medicine and Toxicology):

Forensic medicine is multidisciplinary branch which includes the practice of Forensic pathology, Forensic Psychiatry, Forensic Dentistry, Forensic Radiology and Forensic Toxicology. It is a broad term used to describe a group of medical specialties which deal with the examination and diagnosis of individuals who have been injured by or who have died because of external or unnatural causes such as poisoning, assault, suicide and other form of violence and apply finding to law (ie court cases).

Paolo Zacchria is the father of forensic medicine. He covered all the medico legal issues of his time including the problem of malpractice and medical ethics. He is lightly considered an outstanding representative of his profession. Where "Queaestiones medico legales " gave legal Medicine its name.

Forensic toxicology is the analysis biological of biological samples for the presence of toxins including drugs. The toxicology report can provide key information as to the type of substances present in an individual and if the amount of these substances is consistent with a therapeutic dosage or is above harmful level.

Toxicology provides critical information and knowledge than can be used by regularly agencies, decision makers and others to put programs and policies in place to limit our exposures to these substances thereby presenting or reducing the likelihood that a disease or negative health outcome would occur.

The Archives of Toxicology aim to promote our understanding of toxic as well as pathophysiological mechanisms relevant to the mode of action of chemicals on human and mammalian cells and organism.

In our college herbal garden contains lot of toxic plants like Datura, Nerium Abrus etc, for students plants identifications.
