Sool and Magalir Maruthuvam (Obstetrics & Gynaecology) in Siddha Medicine is the oldest system of medicine practiced in India. This field of medicine is used to diagnose and treat diseases in women from puberty to old age.
In Siddha medicine, the method of dealing with the health of pregnancy and childbirth is called maternity (Sool). "Sool Medicine". Explains pre and post-natal care methods in the Siddha system.

Siddha medicine is very good for the health of both the mother and the developing fetus to have a normal delivery process. It should be followed during each month of pregnancy for a healthy prenatal period (under the guidance of a Siddha specialist) and normal delivery.
The Siddha post-natal regulations is formulated based on the food and nutrition, the physical and the mental activities of mother and child. This includes daily food patterns for the feeding mother with the ingredients of galactagogue and uterine tonics. The feeding of colostrum to the baby is stressed to boost the immunity of the newborn.
The Siddha system emphasizes taking a varied diet during the postmenopausal period that contains fruits, vegetables, and whole grains which are rich sources of phytoestrogen. Lifestyle management is recommended during the time of menopause.

Syllabus of this subject comprises both traditional in siddha system and recent advances in modern Obstetrics & Gynaecology. Specialist teachers are available in the Sool Magalir Maruthuvam to teach this medical subject to the students. Also, the college has a digital classroom facility.
